Job summary

The department of Computer Science & Mathematics in the School of Arts and Sciences at the Lebanese American University invites applicants for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant / Associate Professor or Assistant / Associate Professor of Practice in Bioinformatics. The Department is seeking highly qualified and motivated full-time faculty member who are committed to innovative teaching, research, and academic advising as well as institutional and community service.

Department Profile

The Computer Science and Mathematics is one of the 9 departments of the  School of Arts and Sciences  at LAU. It offers a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Computer Science, a B.S. in Bioinformatics, a B.S. in Mathematics, a Master of Science (M.S.) in Data Science and an M.S. in Computer Science.  The undergraduate program in Computer Science is ABET-accredited.

Minimum Qualifications

Prospective candidates must have earned a PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or a related discipline from a well-recognized University and have an excellent publication record or excellent teaching record and / or industrial experience for the practice track.  Recent graduates with exceptional academic credentials are encouraged to apply.

Preferred Qualifications

While all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply, the department is particularly interested in candidates with experience in evolutionary, comparative and functional genomics, as well as data science.
