Senior Operations Executive – Freight Forwarding

Job Summary

The Senior Operations Executive is responsible for coordinating and managing daily freight operations, ensuring the efficient movement of shipments from origin to destination. The role involves working closely with customers, carriers, shipping lines, airlines, customs brokers, and internal teams to ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective service while maintaining compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate end-to-end freight shipments for air, ocean, and land transportation.
• Liaise with customers, carriers, shipping lines, airlines, and overseas agents regarding shipment status and operational requirements.
• Prepare and review shipping documentation, including bills of lading, airway bills, commercial invoices, packing lists, and customs documents.
• Monitor shipment progress and proactively resolve delays or operational issues.
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations, transportation requirements, and company procedures.
• Coordinate with warehouse, transportation, finance, and customer service teams to ensure smooth shipment execution.
• Maintain accurate shipment records and update transportation management systems (TMS) and ERP systems.
• Verify freight costs, supplier invoices, and operational charges.
• Support customer inquiries and provide timely shipment updates.
• Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and service quality.
• Assist in training and mentoring junior operations staff.
• Prepare operational reports and support KPI tracking.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5–8 years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or transportation operations.
• Strong knowledge of import/export procedures, customs regulations, and international shipping documentation.
• Experience with TMS, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
